Thanksgiving Food Drive

For the past 38 years, the Council has dedicated its time to a Thanksgiving Food Drive to provide food baskets to low income families. Last year the Council served over 900 families, impacting over 3,900 individuals, mostly children.

How to apply?

General application intake will begin on October 27, 2008 at 614 W. National Avenue and end on November 14, 2008.

Time: 8:30 A. M.- 4:00 P.M.

Eligibility

150% of Poverty rate, 48 Contiguous States and D.C.

For families with more than 8 persons, add $5,400 for each additional person.

Geographic guidelines: 53204 or 53215 zip codes

Northern boundary= Canal street
Southern boundary= Oklahoma Avenue
Eastern boundary = Lake Shore
Western boundary - 43rd street

You will need to bring the below items:

1. Proof of household income

2. Current utility bill or rent recipe

3. Valid photo I. D. or ITIN for all adults you will claim

4. Birth certificate, school I. D., or forward card for dependant children you will claim

When do I pick up my Food Box?

On Sunday, November 23, 2008 you will be able to pick up your food box at 1645 S. 36th Street from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
